Park City Fire Danger - MODERATE
The Park City Fire District would like to inform residents and visitors that wildfire danger in our area has been raised to MODERATE.
As temperatures increase and vegetation continues to dry, the potential for wildfires to start and spread is growing. While fire activity remains manageable under Moderate conditions, fires can still ignite from unattended campfires, equipment use, vehicle exhaust systems, discarded smoking materials, fireworks, and other human-caused sources.
We encourage everyone to take extra precautions when spending time outdoors and to follow these wildfire prevention measures:
- No open fires of any kind except within established public facilities in improved campgrounds and picnic areas, or in permanently constructed fire pits at private residences where running water is present.
- No smoking except within an enclosed vehicle, trailer, or building; at a developed recreation site; or while stopped in an area that is paved or free of dry vegetation.
- No fireworks, tracer ammunition, or other pyrotechnic devices, including exploding targets.
- No cutting, welding, or grinding metal in areas containing dry vegetation.
- No operating a motorcycle, chainsaw, ATV, or other small internal combustion engine without an approved and properly functioning spark arrestor.
The majority of wildfires in Utah are human-caused and preventable. By taking a few simple precautions, we can help protect our homes, open spaces, and community.
Park City Fire District personnel are actively monitoring conditions and preparing for the upcoming wildfire season. We appreciate the public's partnership in reducing wildfire risk and keeping our community safe.
For updates on wildfire conditions, preparedness information, and fire restrictions, please continue to monitor Park City Fire District communications.
Together, we can help prevent wildfires and protect the place we all call home.
